The Lufthansa Group has showcased the operations of its ultra-modern training center in Opfikon, Switzerland, where 12,000 specialists undergo training annually on the latest simulators, including the Airbus A350. This highlights the growing dominance of the A350 in aviation, known for its advanced aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. One of the center’s main innovations is the integration of the AI system mAIntor.
This “digital mentor” is a sophisticated chatbot developed internally by the company. The system has analyzed over 1.2 million pages of technical documentation and a database of 240,000 real-world aircraft maintenance and repair cases. With mAIntor, engineers can now instantly find solutions to complex technical failures on flight simulators, eliminating numerous hours of downtime and manual information searches. In the future, the project could be commercialized and offered to other airlines, presenting a potential industry-wide impact by reducing maintenance downtime and improving operational efficiency.
