New Li Auto L9 has been spotted undergoing winter tests in northern China. The test car, heavily camouflaged, was photographed in Inner Mongolia – one of the coldest and snowiest regions of the country. Previously, the model underwent road tests in a milder climate, and now the manufacturer is checking the flagship’s behavior in extreme conditions before its market launch.

Despite the camouflage, the car is easily recognizable by its proportions and characteristic elements. The front optics are still integrated into the bumper, and a compact LiDAR is located on the roof. New wheels are evident: instead of the standard 265/45 R21, wider 285/45 R21 tires are used, mounted on gray glossy rims without aerodynamic overlays.
According to preliminary data, the updated Li Auto L9 will be larger and stretches to approximately 5.3 meters (17.4 feet). The flagship will receive a CATL Freevoy traction battery with a capacity of 73 kWh, supporting ultra-fast 5C charging, upgraded electric motors and generator, and also rear-wheel steering, which reduces the turning radius to 5.5 meters (18 feet).

The debut of the model is expected in March 2026, and among the main competitors are Zeekr 9X, Denza N9, and Aito M9. Recent updates highlight Li Auto’s plans to implement an innovative autonomous driving system and expand its charging infrastructure across China. Additionally, its competitors are similarly focused on enhancing their EV technologies. Experts believe that such advancements align with market expectations, marking significant progress in consumer acceptance of cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies.
