LattePanda IOTA: Bridging Prototype Speed with Commercial Application

On the single-board PC market, an unusual product has appeared. The LattePanda IOTA model is interesting because it simultaneously contains a regular full-fledged processor and a microcontroller, including one from Raspberry.

The main CPU here is the Intel Processor N150, and from Raspberry, they took the RP2040 microcontroller. This is the same one that forms the basis of the 4-dollar Raspberry Pi Pico, which can be purchased separately for just $1. In its configuration are two Cortex-M0+ cores with a frequency of 133 MHz, 264 KB of its own memory, and a number of controllers.

As stated on the company’s website, the LattePanda IOTA was created as a bridge between fast prototyping and commercial implementation. Regarding the Raspberry microcontroller, it can be used for real-time input-output control, sensor data collection, motor control, and even for emulating a non-standard HID device. Such a design effectively reduces the load on the main processor and increases the system’s response speed and functional flexibility.

The PC also comes with 8 or 16 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 64 or 128 GB. The full array of ports is clearly visible in the image above. It remains to add that the price starts at $130.
