Today, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the revamped Kia Sportage 2026 was unveiled. The model has already received approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and is gearing up for a market debut in the first quarter of 2026. Equipped with two turbocharged engines – a 1.5-liter and a 2.0-liter – this crossover aims to pique interest among diverse automotive enthusiasts.
Key design tweaks are evident at the front of the vehicle. The headlights now boast a vertical alignment, the grille is larger with glossy honeycomb elements, and the taillights are connected by a glowing bar.
The dimensions of the model are 4695 × 1865 × 1678/1680 mm, with a wheelbase of 2755 mm. Approach and departure angles clock in at 19 and 26 degrees, respectively. Notably, the Sportage 2026 tailored for the Chinese market is based on the extended wheelbase akin to the U.S. version, making it roomier than its European counterpart.
The interior reflects Kia’s signature style and features a curved panel with dual 12-inch screens. As highlighted by Autohome, the Sportage stands out in material quality and build against Japanese competitors, particularly Toyota, a long-time rival of Korean brands.
The base Sportage 2026 is powered by a 1.5-liter G4FS engine producing 200 horsepower, while the top model boasts a 2.0-liter G4NN engine offering 245 horsepower. Both configurations are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
