Jeep has unveiled the new special edition Wrangler named Whitecap – one of 12 planned brand specials for the upcoming year. The Whitecap edition emphasizes not technical prowess but rather style and nostalgia.
The special version is based on the Sahara and Rubicon trims and is inspired by the classic Jeep CJ-5. Its main visual feature is the Bright White hardtop, which harkens back to the brand’s early models. The grille and decorative stripe on the body, featuring a “1941” badge, are crafted in the same color. For the Rubicon version, there’s additional white hood decoration, and if you order the Sky One-Touch power top, it comes with a white accent.
The cost of the Whitecap package varies depending on the trim. The price for the Rubicon X is just $495. However, for the regular Rubicon, it increases to $3185 – this includes body-colored fender flares and an optional hardtop. For the Sahara model, the package costs $2690.
In terms of mechanics, the Wrangler Whitecap is no different from the standard versions. Buyers have a choice of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 270 hp and the 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 Pentastar producing 285 hp.
