The Chinese version of the smartphone has sharply decreased in price in a short period, which may indicate weak demand and the urgent need to boost sales. Initially offered at 7,499 yuan ($1075), the device is now available for 5,499 yuan ($788). This represents a reduction of approximately 27%, which is unusual for a relatively new model.

Similar discounts on iPhones usually commence either near the end of the device’s lifecycle or in case of obvious sales issues. Last autumn, Apple released the iPhone Air smartphone, part of the iPhone 17 series, known for its ultra-thin and lightweight design. It is the thinnest device in Apple’s history to date. Following Apple, other companies have taken similar steps; however, Xiaomi decided not to release a comparable smartphone.
