iPhone 17e: Tweaks or Transformation?

Apple might release the iPhone 17e as soon as the spring, although this model is not expected to differ significantly from its predecessor. Photo Apple suggests that the new smartphone will have the same design and nearly identical features. The platform will be upgraded to Apple A19, and there will be a new 18-megapixel front camera, consistent across the iPhone 17 lineup. Apparently, these will be all the changes, at least according to Jeff Pu, an analyst at GF Securities.

Given its positioning and price, one should not expect a 120Hz display anytime soon. However, iPhone 16e sales indicated that users generally appreciated the product. If Apple does not increase the price, the new model should find its buyer. Previously, Jeff Pu correctly predicted the inclusion of LPDDR5 RAM and a 48-megapixel sensor in the iPhone 14 Pro, as well as periscope cameras in the iPhone 15 Pro.

Recent industry insights hint that Apple may continue focusing on refining its internal components rather than opting for dramatic design overhauls in its upcoming models. This approach aligns with their business strategy, which emphasizes sustained innovation in performance and capability rather than cosmetic changes. Analysts predict minor updates might focus on improving battery life and enhancing AI features integrated into the iOS ecosystem.
