Interestingly, the description of these CPUs includes details like the name, frequency, cache size, and price, yet the core count is not mentioned. Based on what we know from benchmarks, the top model Xeon 698X will feature 86 cores and 336 MB of cache. We now know that the frequency of this CPU will be only 2 GHz, priced around $8300. At least one retailer suggests this price.

The 64-core model Xeon 696X is priced at $6070, and the 18-core Xeon 654 will cost $1300. For other models, core count information is unavailable, but the entry-level Xeon 634 will be priced at $540, comparable to higher-end consumer-class CPUs.

Competitive Landscape and Future Prospects

In the rapidly evolving landscape of high-performance computing, Intel’s Xeon series might face stiff competition from AMD’s EPYC series and other emerging players in the sector. With advancements in AI and machine learning requiring immense computational power, these new models could play a crucial role in shaping the industry.

Furthermore, Intel’s Core Ultra 300 Panther Lake processors are gaining traction due to improved power efficiency and enhanced multi-core performance, setting a competitive benchmark in mobile processing power, although exact benchmarks are still subject to upcoming independent tests.
