The top-tier Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor of the next generation has emerged in a benchmark. This is the senior model, but without the senior iGPU.
This model features the maximum processor configuration: four large cores, eight small ones, and four LP cores, however, the iGPU contains only four cores instead of 12 Xe3 cores, as seen in the Core Ultra X models.
The CPU operates at a frequency of up to 4.9 GHz and scores 2849 and 15,434 points in Geekbench. For comparison, the Core Ultra 7 255H scores approximately the same, but with a core configuration of 6+8+2.
This aligns with Intel’s promises. They assured us of performance at the level of Arrow Lake with a senior iGPU that is 50% more powerful than Lunar Lake. However, questions remain about its energy efficiency, akin to that of Lunar Lake. We will be able to find out from future tests.
Intel has been focusing on implementing advanced technologies in power efficiency. Recent announcements indicate that future processors may adopt a revolutionary cooling mechanism expected to significantly reduce thermal output. This could directly enhance efficiency and potentially extend lifespans for high-performance processors.
According to industry insiders, there is anticipation around Intel’s shift towards hybrid architectures. Experts suggest this could redefine how processors manage power and workload distribution, possibly marking a departure from conventional designs.
