Hyundai has unveiled the updated Staria minivan in South Korea. The facelift primarily focuses on the interior and equipment. Orders for the new model are now being accepted, with the starting price for the Cargo passenger version set at 32.59 million won (approximately $22,000). The externally modernized Staria is recognizable by its revised lighting and new grille design.
The main updates are in the cabin. The front panel has been changed, increasing the number of physical buttons, the transmission selector has been reworked, and in the Lounge version, the gear selector is moved to the steering wheel stalk. The standard equipment now includes a media system with a 12.3-inch screen (previously the screen size was 10.4 inches).
Additionally, engineers have recalibrated the chassis: improved shock absorbers are installed, subframe mounts have been reinforced, and sound insulation has improved in the engine compartment and the rear of the body. The engine lineup includes a hybrid system with a capacity of 180 horsepower based on a 1.6-liter engine and a bi-fuel 3.5-liter engine with a power output of 240 horsepower.
As hybrid vehicles continue to gain traction globally, Hyundai’s investment in hybrid technology reflects a significant shift towards sustainability in the automotive industry. Recent regulations in key markets underscore the importance of eco-friendly automotive solutions, aiming to reduce emissions and enhance fuel efficiency. The new Staria’s hybrid system aligns with these global trends, providing improved environmental performance without compromising power. The minivan also features enhanced infotainment and safety systems, such as adaptive cruise control and advanced driver assistance, making it a competitive choice in its segment.
