Humanoid Robotics on the Roll: Noetix’s Groundbreaking Deal

Chinese startup Noetix Robotics, which previously introduced the affordable humanoid robot Bumi, priced at $1370, has announced its largest contract to date. Noetix Robotics declared the establishment of a strategic partnership with HCR (Huichen) – an analytics solution provider listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. As part of the deal, HCR has ordered 1000 Bumi humanoid robots, marking the biggest commercial contract in the young startup’s history.

The agreement involves not only the supply of the robots themselves but also the integration of HCR’s software platform, acting as an ‘intelligent brain’, into the Bumi’s hardware ecosystem. This integration is expected to enhance the robot’s intelligence and operational capabilities significantly.

Post the launch of pre-orders on JD.com, more than 500 orders were placed, and according to the company’s CFO Han Shenren, the total number of orders is now in the thousands. The company positions Bumi as ‘the world’s first high-performance humanoid robot’ to break such a price barrier. Bumi is a bipedal robot standing 94 cm tall and weighing 12 kg, crafted from light composite materials. It is capable of walking steadily, performing dance movements, and responding to commands. The core of its design is a balance and movement control system developed by Noetix.

The deal represents a significant milestone for Noetix Robotics, highlighting a growing interest in affordable humanoid robots that blend functionality with cost-efficiency. As humanoid robotics technology evolves, such partnerships could push the boundaries of what these devices can achieve, potentially changing everything from service industries to personal assistants.
