Huawei’s Bold Drive: GAC and Qijing Unveil a Game-Changing Sports Wagon

The first vehicle under the Qijing brand, jointly developed by Huawei and Chinese automaker GAC, has been officially unveiled. The new model, positioned as a sports wagon with an advanced L3 autonomous driving assistance system, is set to hit the Chinese market this year with initial deliveries planned for June 2026.

In a video posted on the official Qijing page, the CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solutions unit, Jin Yuzhi, and Qijing’s CEO, Liu Jianning, test the car’s handling dynamics.

While the first Qijing model is expected to be priced at 300,000 yuan (approximately $42,680), the Qijing car boasts a sloping hood line, large active air intake, and a roof-mounted LiDAR, notable for its sculpted rear fenders, 20-inch ten-spoke wheels, and streamlined door handles that meet China’s latest regulatory requirements.

The car is equipped with an electric powertrain (BEV), anticipated to use an 800V high-voltage system, enabling rapid DC fast charging. The new model will compete with the Zeekr 007 GT and Nio ET5 Touring.

Huawei’s reputation for technological innovation, particularly in intelligent systems, can significantly contribute to the Qijing brand’s appeal, offering consumers cutting-edge solutions in both autonomous driving and vehicle network connectivity.

Recent analyst reports suggest that BEV technology, like the 800V systems, is expected to see further advancements with potential governmental support as China gears towards higher environmental standards and electric vehicle deployment in the near future.
