The global market witnessed the launch of Huawei’s flagship foldable smartphone, the Mate X7, which the manufacturer positions as an event that opens a new chapter in smartphone history. The global version of the Huawei Mate X7 comes with the pre-installed EMUI 15.0 shell.
The external OLED display measures 6.49 inches in diagonal with a resolution of 2444 x 1080 pixels and boasts a segment-leading brightness of 3000 nits. The internal flexible screen is 8 inches with a resolution of 2416 x 2210 pixels and brightness up to 2500 nits. Both displays support a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz and high-frequency PWM at 1440 Hz. The color palette includes Obsidian Black, Cloud Blue, Cloud White, Cosmic Red, and Phantom Purple.
The Mate X7’s camera is also flagship-level: the main module is 50 MP RYYB with a 10-level variable aperture, a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50 MP RYYB telephoto lens for macro photography. The Mate X7 is equipped with a 5600 mAh battery supporting 66-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging. Devices feature ‘Expedition Mode’, autonomy in which reaches up to 10 days.
In recent developments, the Huawei Mate X7 has garnered praise from industry experts for its innovative design and efficient performance optimization. Users have particularly appreciated the device’s battery life and camera capabilities, noting them to be on par with other high-end gadgets in the market.
This release comes amid a backdrop of fierce competition, with notable releases such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 which offers similar foldable technology but with Samsung’s extensive software ecosystem. Competitive aspects such as these make the Huawei Mate X7’s feature set and affordability crucial in capturing market interest.
