In addition, based on real test screenshots, the signal panel of the Mate 80 series displays the 5A logo, indicating that the entire series supports 5G-Advanced or 5.5G. This is an enhanced version of 5G mobile communication, offering higher data transmission speeds and lower latency.

In terms of core features, the Huawei Mate 80 RS Master copies the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, which we have previously covered, but differs in the design of the back panel and memory capacity. The version with 20 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory retails in China for $1,700, while the version with 20 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash storage is offered at $1,830.

As the global 5G adoption race intensifies, Huawei’s move to incorporate 5G-Advanced technology can be seen as a strategic attempt to outpace competitors like Samsung and Apple. Both brands have recently integrated 5G features into their flagship models but are yet to announce consumer-ready 5G-Advanced technology.

In interviews with tech industry experts, opinions vary. A significant number acknowledge Huawei’s prowess in innovating within the telecommunications domain, although some express concerns about its impact amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. Consumers eyeing the Huawei Mate 80 series are likely to appreciate its robust SIM capabilities and the promise of future-proof connectivity.
