Honor has officially confirmed the key features of the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, its most advanced smartphone, scheduled for launch on January 19 in China. It’s confirmed that the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design will have a unique combination of features unparalleled in the smartphone industry. The device integrates a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, making it the only flagship of 2026 with such a memory configuration.
The Honor Magic 8 RSR will be equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash memory. In addition to the version with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash memory, a variant with 16 GB and 512 GB will also be available. In light of rising DRAM and NAND prices, this configuration is rare: many manufacturers have already abandoned 24 GB RAM due to the high cost of components. The smartphone retains the signature Porsche Design style with a redesigned camera block and smooth aerodynamic body lines.
According to preliminary data, the Magic 8 RSR will feature a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 6000 nits, a triple camera with a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, a 7200 mAh battery with 120W charging, and protection ratings of IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
Despite the high-end specifications, Honor has remained elusive regarding the smartphone’s price, with the announcement expected during the launch event. This device is set to compete in the high-end smartphone market with its bold specifications that challenge current industry trends.
