Helderburg’s Arvon: A Masterpiece Redefining the Classic Defender

The Helderburg workshop in Arkansas has unveiled its latest masterpiece-a deeply modernized classic Land Rover Defender, named Arvon. The project cost an impressive $393,000, more than twice the price of the new factory flagship Defender OCTA. The clients, a couple, entrusted the tuners with a straightforward task: to create an ‘ultimate Defender without compromises’. This challenge required over 3,000 hours of handcrafted work.

While most restomods are equipped with powerful modern V8 or electric powertrains, the creators of Arvon went against the trends. The vehicle retained its native 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel.

Despite this, the engine underwent a complete overhaul and modernization. One of the key improvements was the installation of a new dual radiator cooling system: the vehicle can now idle indefinitely under direct sunlight without overheating. The braking system was also revised: calipers were reinforced, brake efficiency was enhanced, and standard hoses were replaced with reinforced ones.

The body is painted in a unique shade of High Pearl Metallic Blue. Features include a new front power bumper, modern LED lighting, new headlight blocks, a winch, a removable light brown soft top, black side steps, and wheel arch extensions, along with new black wheels shod in mud tires.

Special attention was given to the interior, designed according to the client’s wife’s preferences. She wanted the vehicle’s interior to blend organically into the elite Hamptons resort area. Inside, the Defender was completely reupholstered in cream and brown leather with contrasting white stitching. New door panels and seats were installed, including two longitudinal benches at the rear of the body. The look is completed with a wooden-rim steering wheel and a modern multimedia system with Apple CarPlay support.
