Haval has officially announced that the brand-new gasoline crossover, the Haval H6L, will be unveiled on the evening of November 18. This model is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The standout feature of this model is its extended wheelbase.
In terms of design, the novelty is virtually a clone of the Xiaolong MAX crossover. The new dimensions are 4800×1895×1730 mm, with a wheelbase of 2810 mm. This makes the model the largest Haval H6 in history: the H6L is 97 mm longer than the current H6 and has a 72 mm longer wheelbase.
The vehicle features a head-up display, a media system with a 14.6-inch screen, and is powered by the Coffee OS 3 platform, previously introduced in the Tank 500 and Tank 400. It includes ventilation, heating, and massage functions for the front seats, and an adjustable second-row seatback.
The engine produces 238 horsepower, achieving 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.2 seconds with a fuel consumption of 7.4 liters per 100 km (32 mpg). A 1.5-liter turbo engine version will be available later.
The SUV market continues to expand with technological advancements and consumer demand for larger, more versatile vehicles. In 2025, the trend towards hybrid and electric powertrains is notable, with manufacturers investing in sustainable technology. While the Haval H6L retains a gasoline powertrain, its focus on luxury and technology aligns with consumer preferences for comfort and innovation.
In comparison, other market players like the Hyundai Palisade, Toyota Highlander, and Kia Telluride present strong competitive backgrounds with similar features. However, the Haval H6L’s distinctive extended wheelbase and technology-laden interior could differentiate it in a crowded segment.
