Grokipedia’s Meteoric Growth Challenges Wikipedia’s Reign

Grokipedia is significantly outpacing Wikipedia in growth rate. Last month’s growth for Grokipedia was 52.61%, compared to Wikipedia’s 4.77%, according to the latest figures. At the beginning of the year, Grokipedia reached 86% of the total number of articles in the English Wikipedia and continued to grow exponentially. As of January 11, 2026, the number of articles exceeded 6.09 million, and the number of approved Grok edits surpassed 128,137.

“Grokipedia.com will soon significantly surpass Wikipedia,” stated Elon Musk earlier this year.

Previously, Elon Musk launched an online encyclopedia called Grokipedia, which he claims is based on artificial intelligence and is intended to align more closely with his conservative political views than the leading alternative, Wikipedia.

Recent updates suggest Grokipedia’s article count now rivals closely with Wikipedia’s current total of around 6.6 million in English. Grokipedia’s AI integration reportedly streamlines editorial processes, impacting its unprecedented growth and user engagement positively.
