In the cabin, there’s a 1.1-meter 4K display and a media system based on the Qualcomm 8155 SoC. The car will be equipped with the SYNC+ media system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay. The surround view system will also be improved. The length of the sedan is almost 5 meters. Under the hood, a more powerful 2.0-liter 2.0T EcoBoost engine, developing 261 hp, is paired with an 8-speed “automatic” transmission.
Recent trends indicate Ford’s focus on integrating more advanced technologies into its vehicles, catering to a tech-savvy audience. Experts suggest that this move aims to keep up with the intense competition in the Chinese automotive market, which is rapidly adopting smart vehicle technology.
As electric cars continue to rise in popularity, Ford’s strategy with the updated Mondeo seems to verge on offering a hybrid option in the future, aligning with China’s push for greener vehicles. Analysts argue this refresh might be the precursor to a larger electrification initiative by the automaker, expected to unfold over the next few years.
