FAW Toyota Unveils New RAV4 in Guangzhou: More Than Just a Facelift

At the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 21, FAW Toyota unveiled the new generation of the RAV4. The SUV is offered in six trims, priced from 170,000 to 229,000 yuan ($23,344 to $31,452). Special promotions for buyers include an 18,000-yuan ($2,473) discount, a purchase tax subsidy of 6,000 yuan ($824), an extended six-year warranty, and free maintenance for the same period or up to 62,137 miles (100,000 kilometers). The promotional period is from November 21, 2025, to January 9, 2026.

The design of the Chinese version of the RAV4 mirrors the current global RAV4 Woodland model with C-shaped headlights. The vehicle dimensions are 4,620mm × 1,855mm × 1,680mm with a wheelbase of 2,690mm. Available wheel sizes vary from 18 to 20 inches. The shock absorbers have been upgraded for smoother ride over bumps.

The rear has been completely redesigned, featuring LED taillights with a dotted graphic and concealed exhaust pipes. Inside, the RAV4 uses soft-touch materials and new color schemes. It includes ambient lighting with 256 colors, a 15.6-inch display with 2.5K resolution, a digital instrument panel, a new head-up display, and a large panoramic roof. The hardware platform is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P SoC.

The new generation STYLIS seats come with ventilation, and the rear seats fold flat, expanding the storage space to 514 liters.

The crossover is also equipped with Toyota Pilot, featuring adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. The powertrain range includes three variants. A hybrid based on a 2.5-liter engine provides 236 hp, with an E-FOUR system offering all-wheel drive. The new 2.0-liter hybrid engine generates 152 hp with fuel consumption of only 4.59 l/100 km. The base 2.0-liter M20D engine delivers 171 hp with a consumption of 6.29 l/100 km.
