Elon Musk once again outlined his vision for the future of medicine, stating that the shortage of highly qualified doctors is a global problem that cannot be compensated with money. «There is a very limited number of outstanding surgeons. They don’t grow on trees, but soon they will be produced in factories,» Musk said, emphasizing that robotics should solve this deficit.

He spoke about the Optimus project-a humanoid robot from Tesla, which, according to Musk, is being developed with a focus on ultra-precise motor skills. He explained that such high «dexterity» is being created not for demonstration but to perform precise medical tasks. «Imagine a world where everyone has access to the best surgeons, literally everyone,» he noted.
Musk asserts that next-generation robots will be able to perform operations with precision unattainable for humans. «Optimus will have a level of precision that, frankly, is superhuman and will be able to perform medical procedures, very complex medical procedures, any medical procedures, possibly even things that people cannot do because it’s too difficult,» Musk added that these robots will be available to everyone.
At Tesla’s 2025 annual shareholder meeting, clarifying information about the humanoid robot Optimus was presented. Elon Musk stated that Optimus is the only way to eradicate poverty and provide everyone with quality medical care.
