Dell’s Price Hikes: Memory Shortage Hits Hard

The company Dell has informed its employees about an upcoming significant price increase on a range of products, citing a shortage of RAM. This hike is said to be one of the most substantial in Dell’s history. Photo Dell Laptops and PCs may become more expensive by hundreds of dollars, as RAM has already increased in price multiple times, and analysts predict further price hikes. Furthermore, storage prices are also rising due to a NAND memory shortage. This will lead to a price increase of hundreds of dollars for mid-range laptops. It is reported that prices for the latest Dell Pro and Pro Max models will rise by up to $230 next week, depending on the memory configuration. As for top configurations with 128 GB of RAM, the price will increase by $765. However, this is better than the markup Dell attempted a few days ago, asking $950 to switch from 16 GB to 64 GB of RAM. Fortunately, the company quickly reversed this decision. Let’s recall, analysts from TrendForce expect that PCs next year will not only become more expensive but also worse, as companies return to smaller RAM volumes.
