Corsair’s Pricing Gaffe: System Glitch or Strategy in Disguise?

Company Corsair, which previously cancelled a customer’s order for a pre-built PC, is now cancelling orders for RAM as well. The manufacturer explains the situation as a system error. The issue revolves around the Dominator Titanium DDR5-6400 48GB memory kit. Customers who ordered this kit for $240 received a letter from Corsair, where the company apologizes for the inconvenience and informs that it is forced to cancel the order. This is explained as a system error with incorrectly listed pricing.

Indeed, if you look at aggregators, kits with such parameters cost at least $600/EUR, and even when looking at DDR5-6000, you’d still need to pay no less than $450-$500. As of now, that kit is completely unavailable on Corsair’s own site. Additionally, the company in another letter notes that an availability error also occurred. Reddit users point out that Corsair moderators are blocking related forum topics.

Recent developments suggest Corsair might be facing broader market challenges, with system errors potentially indicating deeper operational concerns. While specific statements from Corsair remain limited beyond apologies, industry analysts speculate whether this is part of a larger strategy shift in response to market demand and pricing pressures. Furthermore, Reddit discussions have revealed widespread dissatisfaction among users, escalating calls for greater transparency from Corsair. As of now, no further official communication has been made by the company regarding the incident’s long-term implications.
