Cooler Master’s CES 2026 Debut: A New Shield Protects More Than Just GPUs

Cooler Master has introduced an innovative approach to protect GPUs with the 12V-2×6 power connector at CES 2026. This new solution, named GPU Shield, focuses on ensuring proper connection and load monitoring. GPU Shield debuts alongside the new MWE Gold V4 power supply series. These are fully modular units ranging from 750 to 1000 watts, certified with 80 Plus Gold.

The new power supplies feature a light indicator that glows green when the connector is properly plugged in and red if any issue arises. It’s known that the 12V-2×6 connector can sometimes be incompletely connected due to its design. The second layer of protection includes a real-time current monitoring system, which intervenes when any anomalies occur. These solutions are expected to significantly enhance connection security.

Additionally, the company unveiled the GPU Shield Adapter Cable, which provides the same protection levels without needing to replace the power supply. This means it can be connected to other PCs, maintaining high security standards.

The introduction of these products comes as Cooler Master expands its portfolio of cooling solutions and peripherals, showcasing their commitment to safety and performance in high-demand systems. The trend in GPU safety technology, particularly for high-power devices, remains critical as manufacturers aim to mitigate risks associated with modern computing demands.
