In China, alongside the Oppo Reno15 Pro, the baseline model of the series, Reno15, was launched. The new device boasts a relatively small (by contemporary standards) OLED screen measuring 6.32 inches, a 1.5K resolution, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. At the core of this model’s hardware platform, like the Pro version, is the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chip. The battery capacity is an impressive 6200 mAh, with a maximum wired charging power of 80W, though it does not support wireless charging, unlike the Reno15 Pro.

The 200-megapixel sensor is used in the primary module with a wide-angle lens, whereas the 50-megapixel sensors are employed in the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto modules. The front camera is a striking 50 megapixels. The dimensions of this new model are 151.21 x 72.42 x 8.13 mm and it weighs 188 grams. It runs on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and has dust and water protection rated at IP69.

While both models sport similar core specifications, the key differentiators are seen in their additional features and hardware enhancements, which appeal differently to various consumer needs. The absence of wireless charging in the Reno15 is targeted toward users who prioritize quick wired charging and prefer investing less compared to the Pro version. Considering the rapid changes in mobile technology, experts believe that hardware improvements and strategic pricing such as these will redefine consumer expectations for mid-range smartphones.
