The author of the channel TrashBench continues to experiment with cooling graphics cards in the most unconventional ways. In a new video, they have attached a large tower CPU cooler to a GeForce RTX 2060. And then another one.
This solution turned out to be quite effective. Installing a dual-section Thermalright cooler significantly reduces the GPU temperature. If with the original cooling system the temperature of the GPU and HotSpot is 74 and 92 degrees respectively, then with the CPU cooler it’s 47 and 61 degrees. There were also intermediate options with additional radiators, but their effectiveness is noticeably lower. The installation of a second cooler on the rear panel reduces temperatures to 43 and 57 degrees, so the efficiency of the second cooler relative to the first is quite low. Of course, in a permanent setup, such a solution is unlikely to be used, but for some attempts of budget overclocking, the option may be quite suitable.
As of 2023, Thermalright has introduced new cooling models that boast enhanced efficiency and quieter operations, reflecting recent advancements in technology. Unconventional cooling methods are gaining popularity as modern GPUs become more power-hungry, producing more heat. Such innovations are a testament to the creative approaches enthusiasts are taking as they push the boundaries of traditional cooling solutions.
