Officially announced by Chery Group, its subsidiary MoJia Robotics has delivered the 1000th Argos robot dog. These machines are already being deployed in real-world settings, ranging from home assistance and residential area patrols to industrial site security. The four-legged Argos boasts 13 degrees of freedom, can carry up to 5 kg, and traverse up to 4 miles (6.48 km) across challenging terrains including shrubs, gravel, and slopes. It conducts night patrols while streaming real-time video.
MoJia Robotics has established two production lines, with the robot dogs’ production capacity alone reaching 15,000 units annually. MoJia plans to expand the Argos lineup with a lightweight version for home use, a ruggedized model for tough environments, and a professional engineering robot for park, warehouse, and construction site inspections. Concurrently, Chery is testing Argos for urban scenarios, including road patrols.
Recently, there have been significant advancements and interest in robotics for urban security and home assistance. Analysts project the global robotics market to grow substantially over the next few years, with increased investment towards more sophisticated and human-like operational capabilities. The inclusion of advanced AI technologies and sensor systems is leading to robots that can adapt and learn from diverse environments, enhancing their utility in both domestic and commercial applications. MoJia Robotics, leveraging this trend, aims to stay at the forefront of the industry by integrating cutting-edge tech into their Argos models.
