The company BYD officially unveiled the 2026 model of the Qin L DM-i sedan, featuring an extended range version. The new model is available in four trims priced between 92,800 to 122,800 Yuan ($14,330 – $18,970).
The automobile is equipped with a steering mode selector and an updated DiLink 100 media system. This system includes a karaoke feature that operates without a microphone and expanded smartphone integration capabilities. Users can easily swipe addresses to the car’s navigation system or shake their phone to transfer them. Music services support shared subscriptions with mobile devices.
The powertrain remains unchanged, consisting of a 1.5-liter engine producing 100 hp, alongside an electric motor delivering either 163 or 218 hp. The top version is equipped with a 25.28 kWh battery that provides up to 210 km of pure electric range, with a maximum combined range of 2110 km. Fuel consumption with a depleted battery is only 2.79 liters per 100 km. Additionally, the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i 2026 was introduced with the same range but at a slightly lower price.
As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, competitors such as the Tesla Model 3 and Xpeng P7 are also making strides, pushing automotive technology further. However, BYD’s innovative approach, especially in integrating user-friendly smartphone functionalities and emphasizing extended range and fuel efficiency, sets the Qin L DM-i apart in the current landscape.
