BYD Reveals Technological Leap in Yangwang U7 with Enhanced Specs

BYD unveiled the updated Yangwang U7 at the Guangzhou Auto Show, showcasing it in a fresh Galaxy Blue hue. Enhancements in technical specifications mark a significant progression for the model. The total power output has increased from 960 to 1000 kW, translating to a boost from 1287 to 1341 hp. The configuration retains its four synchronous motors with outputs of 240, 240, 260, and 260 kW respectively. The hybrid version continues to utilize the 2-liter BYD4H20 engine delivering 200 kW.

The sedan’s dimensions remain unchanged: 5360 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 3200 mm. Its weight stays constant at 3223 kg. The model employs LFP batteries and the signature DiSus-Z active suspension based on magnetic levitation principles. Leveraging lidar and camera data, it adjusts clearance in real-time, reflecting cutting-edge advancements in automotive control systems.

The driver assistance system integrates three lidars, five radars, thirteen cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, all operating on dual Nvidia Orin-X single-chip systems. The electric version is outfitted with a Blade battery with a capacity of 135.5 kWh, offering a range of up to 720 km and fast charging capabilities.

Recently, BYD has been focusing on expanding its footprint in the international market while enhancing its technological offerings. The company’s collaboration with Nvidia has added substantial computing power to its assistive systems, providing drivers with an enhanced, safer driving experience. Furthermore, BYD’s continuous refinements in electric vehicle technology reinforce its position as a leader in the sustainable automotive sector, with expectations set high for future innovations.
