Blue Origin Unveils TeraWave Satellite Communication System
Blue Origin has announced a new satellite communication project named TeraWave, designed to provide global coverage with a record-breaking bandwidth of up to 6 Tbps via optical channels (up to 144 Gbps via radio channels for both download and upload).

Unlike mass services like Starlink, TeraWave targets corporate clients, data centers, and governmental customers who require guaranteed reliable and high-speed communication for critically important operations. The constellation will consist of 5,408 satellites in low and medium Earth orbit, interconnected by radio and optical links. This architecture will enable the construction of ultra-fast communication channels between major hubs and remote access points, where laying fiber optics is economically impractical or technically challenging.

Blue Origin promises a symmetric channel, global coverage, and the ability to quickly integrate TeraWave into existing infrastructure. The deployment of the constellation is scheduled to begin at the end of 2027.
