The Ayaneo Pocket Play slider smartphone, reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play R800i, has not yet been officially announced in full, but it’s clear it won’t lack in performance. The new device is set to feature the Dimensity 9300 SoC. Although this isn’t the latest platform, it’s still the flagship from 2024, scoring around 2 million points on AnTuTu.
Previously, the company mentioned that the new product will come with a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and support for 165 Hz. Furthermore, this display technology promises color accuracy and high contrast ratios, enhancing the gaming experience for this slider device.
The manufacturer is expected to launch a Kickstarter campaign shortly. Such crowdfunding campaigns often serve as a prelude to mass production, potentially offering early adopters unique perks or pricing benefits. Analysts believe the Ayaneo Pocket Play could appeal to nostalgic gamers and tech enthusiasts alike, especially with its unique form factor that sets it apart from the sea of generic smartphones. Industry experts suggest that this device might disrupt the current gaming smartphone market segment by blending iconic design with modernized hardware.
