Recently, several retailers reported that Asus halted the shipment of the limited edition ROG Matrix RTX 5090 graphics card due to unspecified quality issues. After a week, Asus responded, stating that there were no such problems. The shipments were indeed temporarily paused, but Asus claims this was related to some product enhancements, leaving ambiguity about what this means.
“We did not recall the graphics card. We adjusted the initial delivery schedule to allow more time for product refinements and ensure optimal customer interaction,” the company clarified. “The product will reach our partners within the next few days. Availability, however, depends on the region. Therefore, those already receiving the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 should not worry about any potential defects.”
In the competitive high-end graphics card market of 2025, Asus ranks among leaders alongside Nvidia’s popular RTX series and AMD’s anticipated Radeon releases. As technology rapidly evolves, indirect factors like supply chain efficiencies, customer expectations, and robust quality controls become increasingly crucial for maintaining market leadership.
Industry watchers speculate that the slogan “product enhancements” may involve performance improvements or integration of cutting-edge cooling technologies, a hallmark of Asus’s premium products. This strategic pause could also align with optimizing synergy between new software ecosystems and hardware capabilities.
