Asus has launched sales of its portable RT-BE58 Go router, which supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be). The new product is offered in China for 900 yuan – approximately $131 based on the latest exchange rates. A key feature of this device is its ability to be powered by a mobile battery, making it usable both at home and during travel.
The router is equipped with a quad-core Broadcom processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, 1 GB of DDR4 RAM, 256 MB of built-in flash memory, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, a gigabit LAN port, and USB-A and USB-C ports (for power consumption – 18 watts). The maximum Wi-Fi network speed is 3600 Mbps: 2.4 GHz band – up to 688 Mbps, 5 GHz band – up to 2882 Mbps. The RT-BE58 Go supports 4K QAM, MLO (Multi-Link Operation), and AiMesh – it can work together with other Asus routers, thereby extending the coverage area and providing seamless coverage without reconnections.
For connectivity options, the RT-BE58 Go offers three modes: standard, 5G/4G modem for distributing mobile internet, and WISP mode (repeater). Furthermore, the advent of Wi-Fi 7 technology signifies an advancement as it can utilize multiple bands simultaneously, delivering higher speeds and improved stability.
Notably, portable routers like this are increasingly integrated with smart home systems, allowing better connectivity across devices in a smart ecosystem. As a result, consumer choices are increasingly driven by the desire for seamless integration and robust functionality in varied environments.
