The Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan multi-brand plant currently manufactures three crossover models using the semi-knockdown method. As reported by Elena Nikitenko, a correspondent for the publication “Chinese Cars” in Kazakhstan, these models include the Chery Tiggo 2 Pro, Haval Jolion, and Changan CS55 Plus, known in the Russian market as the Uni-S.
The enterprise is already gearing up for the next phase of development. Initially, the plant was designed to accommodate an expanded model lineup and a gradual shift towards deeper localization, including full-cycle assembly of individual models. Among the next potential candidates for semi-knockdown to full-cycle production is the Tank 300 SUV. Currently, this model is undergoing all necessary checks and tests, after which a decision on commencing its production at Astana Motors’ facility could be made.
Recently, there have been strategic moves in the automotive industry with Astana Motors aiming to deepen its capabilities. This not only highlights their ambition to enhance production efficiency but also their readiness to adapt to the growing demand for diversified automotive solutions. Industry analysts are closely monitoring how this shift might impact the competitive landscape in Kazakhstan and neighboring markets.
