According to TrendForce’s forecast, the much-awaited budget MacBook could debut this spring. A source reveals that it will feature a 12.9-inch display, making it the most compact MacBook among current models, though Apple previously had a 12-inch MacBook model.

The authors note that while the launch timing isn’t ideal, improved supply chain efficiency, sales volume advantages, and competitive pricing should help this product attract buyers, increase market penetration, and ensure stable supply volumes.
Reports suggest the new MacBook will feature the Apple A18 Pro SoC, distinguishing it from higher-end laptops. Notably, it will lack Thunderbolt ports and keyboard backlighting. Earlier details indicated 12/256 GB memory, but given the current market, Apple might release a model with 8/256 GB to save costs, aimed at pricing between $600-$800.
In the context of ongoing global tech trends, the shift towards compact, budget-friendly laptops is gaining momentum as more consumers prioritize portability and affordability over high-end specifications. This aligns with the influx of remote work environments prompting greater demand for efficient yet economical computing solutions.
