Insider Ice Universe published sales statistics for flagship smartphones in the Chinese market from their launch until the end of the second week of 2026. The data highlights Apple’s overwhelming dominance.
The iPhone 17 series sold an astonishing 17.27 million units. Apple managed to sell 2.4 times more smartphones than the combined total from Xiaomi, Huawei, Vivo, and Oppo, whose collective result amounts to around 7.2 million devices.
These statistics indicate that despite the popularity of local models, Chinese users are not yet willing to switch en masse to domestic flagships. Even the popular Huawei Mate 80 series falls behind the iPhone 17 by more than 8 times. This can partly be attributed to Apple’s introduction of features like enhanced AI capabilities, superior image processing technology, and innovations in battery life that appeal significantly to tech-savvy consumers.
Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report on the specifications of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, as well as on the Realme GT 7 Pro featuring a vibrant Samsung display, and the earlier release of the Dimensity 9400 SoC compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
