Apple’s Health+ Plans on Hold Amid AI Sector Saturation

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple has decided not to release its Health+ service based on artificial intelligence, due to this segment already being saturated with offerings. However, the developments are not being canceled altogether. There were previous rumors that Apple was preparing to launch the Health+ service based on AI. Among other things, it would be capable of providing recommendations based on collected health data and even offering exercise technique corrections using the iPhone’s camera. However, recently during a restructuring, the Health+ development team fell under the direct supervision of Apple Services head, Eddy Cue, and he ultimately decided that releasing Health+ as a standalone product was unfeasible.

But since Apple is heavily invested in health-related features and technologies, the Health+ developments are, of course, not going to disappear. For instance, a recommendation system based on user data is likely to appear this year in the existing Health app, and an AI chatbot might emerge at a later date.
