It appears that future Apple devices will indeed feature SoCs produced by Intel. This topic has been in the rumor mill for some time, but now it is being affirmed by Jeff Pu, an analyst from Haitong Intl Tech Research. According to his data, Intel already has several major clients for its 14A process, and among them is Apple.
The production and supply of such chips to the Cupertino giant will commence in 2027, marking what will be the entry-level platform in Apple’s lineup. Given the 2027 timeline, this chip is likely to be the Apple M7, since the M5 is already out and the M6 line is anticipated by the end of this year.
Besides Apple, the future Intel process has also grabbed the interest of AMD and Nvidia, which plan to leverage this technology for their server solutions.
In 2025, Intel is expected to advance its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities significantly, with a focus on improved power efficiency and performance. This is part of Intel’s broader strategy to regain its position as a leader in the semiconductor industry. This collaboration with Apple could very well signify a step in that direction.
Jeff Pu had previously correctly forecasted the inclusion of LPDDR5 RAM and a 48-megapixel sensor in the iPhone 14 Pro, as well as periscope cameras in the iPhone 15 Pro.
This kind of foresight underscores the potential impact of this alliance on the consumer electronics market. With AMD and Nvidia also showing high interest, the competition in the semiconductor field is set to intensify, promising faster and more efficient chips.
