The upcoming flagship processor from AMD, the Zen 5 architecture-based Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, has once more shown up in the Geekbench database, this time with a marked increase in performance.

The testing was carried out on a Gigabyte X870 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 scored 3553 in the single-thread test and achieved 24,340 in the multi-thread test. To compare, earlier results for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 were 3456 and 21,062 points, while the Ryzen 9 9950X3D results were 3395 and 22,126 points respectively. It is evident that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has considerably improved in performance, particularly in multi-threading. The superiority over the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is approximately 7%.
According to Geekbench data, clock speeds remain unchanged from previous leaks: the maximum frequency still reaches 5.6 GHz.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 features 16 cores and supports multithreading. It boasts 192 MB of L3 cache, frequencies ranging from 4.3 to 5.6 GHz, and a TDP of 200W (30W more than the Ryzen 9 9950X3D).
Competitors such as Intel’s latest processors, like the i9-13900K, offer similar core and thread counts but tend to have higher base prices and power consumption. As of the beginning of 2026, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is expected to maintain competitive advantages in cost versus its performance capabilities, especially given AMD’s focus on offering high efficiency and enhanced multi-core processing capabilities at a moderate price point. Currently, mid-range pricing is anticipated, with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 aimed to appeal to enthusiasts and professional workloads where the cost-effectiveness can be a decisive factor.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 also leads in cache availability, which is projected to play a significant role in its performance boost over its counterparts, especially in gaming and computational tasks. Recent benchmark positions show this chip’s preparedness to edge out competition from Intel’s latest offerings.
