The lucky buyer shared a photo of the sealed processor and mentioned he bought it “out of curiosity” for 450 Swiss francs (approximately $490). The new CPU is planned to replace a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which will now be installed in another computer. No performance tests were provided by the buyer.

Such cases of premature shipments are rare but do happen. AMD has officially confirmed that the global launch of Ryzen 7 9850X3D will take place on January 29. The recommended retail price for the U.S. market is $500.
