AMD has confirmed the existence of a new gaming processor previously whispered about by various insiders. The model is named Ryzen 7 9850X3D, elevating above the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Details remain scarce on the website, but as stated earlier, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is expected to be an overclocked version of its predecessor. While it’s common to see an increase by 100-200 MHz, this iteration will boast a bump of 400 MHz, reaching 5.6 GHz. This enhancement will likely shine more in applications rather than in games.
Innovative Cache Design
Importantly, according to recent leaks, AMD is preparing an even more fascinating Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, the first to feature dual 3D V-Cache chips, collectively offering 192 MB of L3 cache. This leap in cache size will significantly impact performance in multitasking and data-intensive applications.
Upcoming Reveal at CES 2026
The much-anticipated AMD processors are set to be showcased at CES 2026, which will take place from January 6-9.
