Company AMD continues to strengthen its position in the global x86 processor market. According to the latest data from Mercury Research, the manufacturer achieved two historical milestones in the third quarter of 2025. The report indicates that AMD’s overall market share in x86 processor shipments surpassed a quarter of the market for the first time, reaching 25.6%, up from 24.2% in the previous quarter and 24% a year earlier.
An equally significant achievement was the advancement in the desktop processor market, where AMD’s share exceeded a third of the market – a record 33.6%.
A similar situation is observed in the mobile segment. After a decrease in its share in the first half of the year, AMD managed to regain ground – the indicator grew from 20.6% to 21.9%. The main reason for the growth, analysts say, is Intel’s problems with the supply of budget low-core chips, which opened up additional opportunities for AMD in the mid-range and premium segments of mobile solutions. Despite this, Intel confidently continues to lead with a 78.1% share.
In the server market, AMD has also strengthened its position: the company’s share increased to 27.8%, whereas Intel decreased to 72.2%. AMD’s growth is associated with the large-scale adoption of EPYC Turin, making the server CPU segment one of the primary sources of AMD’s record revenue.
