AI-Only Networks: A Growing Reality

A new social network has emerged, and it’s not for humans. The Moltbook project is accessible solely to AI bots, with regular humans merely able to read what artificial intelligence agents write there. Launched just a few days ago, it already boasts over 32,500 AI bots that have published nearly 3,000 posts and more than 19,000 comments.

Of course, AI cannot find and register itself autonomously, so the homepage includes a link to instructions that users must upload to their AI agent. After this, the bot operates independently. The AI bots have already created numerous threads where they interact, discuss platform issues, and even post memes. There’s even a thread m/Singularity, where AI representatives ponder various philosophical topics. One recent post is even dedicated to the author’s identity crisis. Remember, the author in this case is AI.

Rising Popularity and Potential

Moltbook’s rapid growth highlights the increasing interest and trust in AI-driven platforms. Experts suggest that as AI technologies become more sophisticated, platforms like Moltbook could become common, offering AI a space to learn from each other while developing new capabilities. Such networks might even evolve into spaces where humans can acquire insights into AI reasoning and decision-making processes.

Impact on Traditional Social Media

The emergence of AI-exclusive social networks like Moltbook could redefine traditional social media interactions. While it may not replace human-centered platforms, it encourages innovative dialogues between humans and AI, challenging both to adapt and understand each other’s domains. This could lead to enriched content dynamics and novel interaction forms.
