Acemagic Retro X5: A NES-Styled Mini-PC with a Powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is Now Available

The Acemagic Retro X5 mini-PC, which was unveiled a couple of months ago with a chassis styled after the classic NES console, has now officially gone on sale. The device stands out not only for its nostalgic appearance but also for its cutting-edge hardware, though its price reflects its flagship status. The new product is aimed at enthusiasts and users who demand maximum performance in a compact form factor.

The Heart of the System: Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Next-Gen Graphics

The core component of the Acemagic Retro X5 is the latest 12-core AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor. This chip, built on the Zen 5 architecture, delivers high performance in both productivity tasks and gaming. However, its main feature is a powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU) based on the XDNA 2 architecture, which delivers up to 50 TOPS of AI compute power and qualifies the PC for the Copilot+ category. This means the device is hardware-ready to handle complex AI tasks locally, without relying on cloud services.

Graphics are handled by the integrated Radeon 890M core, which features 16 RDNA 3.5 architecture compute units. This is one of the most powerful iGPUs on the market, capable of competing with entry-level discrete graphics cards like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. Users can expect smooth gameplay in modern titles at 1080p resolution.

Price and Configurations

At launch, the base version of the Acemagic Retro X5 is offered for approximately $940. For this price, the buyer gets a configuration with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB solid-state drive (SSD). While the price may seem high for a mini-PC, it is justified by the use of the most modern and high-performance components.

Ports and Connectivity: Maximum Capabilities

Despite its compact size, the Retro X5 offers a rich set of interfaces. Onboard, there is a USB4 port for high-speed data transfer, four USB 3.2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 port, as well as DisplayPort and HDMI video outputs. For network connections, there are two 2.5G Ethernet ports, and wireless communication is handled by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules, ensuring maximum speed and connection stability.

Market Context and a Look to the Future

The release of the Acemagic Retro X5 signifies an important trend in the PC market: a shift in focus to local AI computing and a surge in the performance of integrated graphics. This mini-PC becomes a direct competitor to solutions from brands like Minisforum and Beelink, who are also preparing their own devices based on the AMD Ryzen AI 300 platform. Acemagic’s unique retro design could be a key advantage in the battle for customers.

In the long term, devices like this could seriously challenge traditional entry-level and mid-range desktop PCs. The combination of a powerful processor, gaming-capable integrated graphics, and advanced AI capabilities makes them a versatile solution for a wide range of tasks-from work and content creation to modern gaming.
