Haval Dargo and Dargo X: Shifting Gears in Kazakhstan’s Crossover Market

Crossovers Haval Dargo and Dargo X are leaving the Kazakh market. As “Chinese Automobiles” found out, information about the standard Dargo has already disappeared from the brand’s official website in Kazakhstan, while its “off-road” version, the Dargo X, is still formally presented in the lineup. Astana Motors confirmed that the Haval Dargo has been removed from the product portfolio, and sales of the Dargo X will cease as the remaining 2025 models are sold by dealers.

Which model Haval will offer as a replacement is yet to be revealed. The distributor reports that, together with Great Wall Motor, it is exploring new options that can better meet customer expectations. The timing of possible announcements has not been determined. However, back in November 2025, the Haval V7 crossover, previously known as Raptor, was introduced in Kazakhstan, which in terms of design and positioning, could potentially fill the void left by Dargo.

In recent months, the crossover market in Kazakhstan has seen a heightened interest in vehicles equipped with advanced safety features and hybrid technology, reflecting global trends in the automotive industry. Chinese brands like Haval have been paying close attention to these consumer preferences, aiming to align their offerings closer with these evolving demands. Despite the departure of the Dargo models, Haval remains committed to staying competitive in the market by researching and possibly introducing newer models that cater to these preferences.

Additionally, market trends suggest a growing fondness for rugged, versatile vehicles that handle well both on urban roads and rougher terrains, which could steer future models towards enhancing these characteristics. This shift is partly driven by an increasing number of younger buyers seeking vehicles that offer both practicality and adventure.
