Samsung’s One UI 8.5: Steady March towards Stability

Samsung has released the fourth beta version of One UI 8.5 for owners of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra series smartphones. This update, which is quite sizable at 1.5 GB (firmware version ending in ZZAL), began distribution in South Korea and will soon be available in other countries. The release of the fourth beta was delayed-it appeared a month after the previous version, despite expectations of a mid-January launch.

The main focus of this update is on the stability of phone functions and interface performance. Developers have fixed issues such as spontaneous switching to speakerphone during calls, call history errors, and one-sided hearing problems with Bluetooth headsets. Additionally, a bug in the AI Select menu, which previously did not close automatically after copying text, has been resolved. These improvements align with Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user experience overall.

Beta 4 is considered one of the final stages of testing before a global launch. The full stable release of One UI 8.5 is expected shortly after the presentation of the new flagship Galaxy S26 series, which is scheduled for February 25 of this year.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S25 models have seen a steady demand in the market, with prices in USD reflecting their premium positioning. Current market sentiments indicate that consumers appreciate Samsung’s consistent focus on feature-rich updates that enhance daily convenience and device performance.
