Authors from Phoronix conducted tests on the Intel Arc B390 iGPU in games running under Linux. We are already familiar with tests under Windows, but the situation often differs slightly in Linux. This case was no exception. Arc B390 still outperformed any iGPU in this class, easily surpassing the Radeon 890M. However, while under Windows the difference between these GPUs can reach 50-70%, in Linux, it has narrowed to 23%.
Nonetheless, it is enough to credit Intel’s newcomer with an unequivocal victory, but it can no longer be called a rout.
Meanwhile, the authors also evaluated power consumption. The Core Ultra X7 358H was found to be the same 23% lower than that of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Recent comparisons with updated software releases highlight that Intel has aggressively optimized their drivers, further boosting performance efficiency in the most commonly played AAA titles. Industry experts anticipate this competitive edge will push AMD to refine its upcoming releases.
