Valve has updated Steam’s statistics, revealing that the GeForce RTX 3060, after reigning supreme for several months, has ceded its throne. The new leader is the RTX 4060, boasting a 4.59% share with a monthly increase of 0.49 percentage points. The RTX 3060 now occupies the second position with a 4.54% share, followed by the RTX 4060 Laptop at 4.19%. Notably, the RTX 5070 has climbed in the ranks, now holding the fifth position with a 3% share after a monthly increase of 0.47 percentage points. This is somewhat unusual as typically, the GeForce xx6x series cards quickly ascend to prominence. The same RTX 5060 is currently ninth with a 2.62% share, having grown by 0.75 percentage points.

A peculiar inconsistency in the statistics warrants attention. A comparison between the early December figures and the present entries marked as December shows a complete mismatch. Moreover, last month, it was observed that the Radeon RX 9070 appeared for the first time in the statistics, with a 0.22% share. Now, it is absent among DirectX 12 cards and appears in the general list with only a 0.16% share, seemingly indicating its emergence only now, rather than a month earlier.

The cause of this anomaly remains unclear, yet it’s worth noting that such oddities in Steam’s statistics are not uncommon, making this incident far from the first of its kind.
