A user discovered an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card in a Goodwill store for only $5. Considering this model still supports stable gaming experiences in Full HD, with used prices reaching up to $500, this acquisition can indeed be considered a significant bargain.

The Reddit user, going by the username 12kdaysinthefire, shared that they acquired the Radeon RX 5700 XT version from ASRock. The new owner restored the card, applying new thermal pads and fresh thermal paste, and reassembled the cooling system. Following these adjustments, the accelerator functioned without any issues.
Released in 2019, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT was based on the first version of the RDNA (Navi) architecture. The GPU was manufactured with a 7 nm process and housed 2,560 stream processors. It also featured 8 GB of GDDR6 memory paired with a 256-bit bus. Initially positioned as a solution for Full HD gaming, its recommended price was $400. At the time, the Radeon RX 5700 XT competed directly with the Nvidia RTX 2060 Super.

By 2026, the Radeon RX 5700 XT remains a surprisingly capable option for moderate gaming needs, though it’s been overshadowed by newer models from both AMD and Nvidia.
