It seems that processors from both AMD and Intel could become more expensive shortly. According to reports, analysts from Keybanc assert that AMD and Intel are considering a price increase of 10 to 15% on CPUs in the near future. Fortunately for regular users, this is currently only applicable to server processors.
The reasons remain the same: the excitement around AI. Demand for server chips has risen noticeably, to the point where most production capacities for AMD and Intel server processors for 2026 are already sold out. Prices might increase within the current quarter.
Analysts are also raising their forecasts for server shipments growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 from 1% to 6% compared to the third quarter. They also anticipate that server shipments in the first quarter of 2026 will increase by 2% compared to the previous quarter. The forecast for server shipments throughout 2025 is raised from 4% to 6%, and in the current year, server shipment volumes are expected to grow by 16-17% compared to 2025, with shipments specifically for cloud services increasing by 25%. Remember, forecasts for the consumer market indicate a decline of 4-10%.
